STOP PRESS NEWS
I am proud of telling you that the following article is an official press article of my publishing house which soon can also be found at Austin Macauley's official website. I have the exclusive rights for showing this article as a preview on my official website. Please read the following: Stop Press News Past headlines concerning the work of Lola Evans - a multi-talented and acclaimed new writer whom we are privileged to introduce to our readers: Official comments that apply to our new author: 'Lola Evans writes movingly for Austin & Macauley Publishers Limited' 'Young author matures to distinguished writer' 'Winner of the international poetry competition in 2002 - work distributed in Vienna, Washington DC (USA), Paris, Tokyo 'Nominated for the European Literary Award in 2003 and 2004' 'Honorary Member of the WWA (World Writers Association, London)' 'Young author receives scholarship for creative writing studies at the Cornelia-Goethe-Academy, Frankfurt - being an honour bestowed only on promising new writers 'Poem 'Childhood' included as prize-winning poem in the European poetry book of the best German poems of the 21st century Austin & Macauley Publishers Limited are proud to announce that Lola Evans has written for all of us a moving book on the very important subject - the death penalty. It is entitled "Black Skin White Skin" which deeply researches and highlights the fact that innocent victims are sometimes confronted with the death penalty in the USA. It competently explores the inequalities of treatment meted out, including the undeniable fact that sometimes it is the innocent who are unjustly confronted with the death penalty. As Lola herself says, she is 'a young white woman raising her voice for the Blacks and the oppressed ones of this world. Racism concerns all of us. It's really high time not only to talk but to finally act.' As a supporter of Amnesty International and NCADP, Lola has made it her personal and currently main cause celebre to highlight this very serious matter and sees herself as an 'ambassador' for the abolition of the death penalty. In a related cause, she herself is an active member in several animal organisations such as WSPA and PETA. Her own studies in veterinary science and her degree in Animal Psychology (specialising in cats and dogs) and a Master in Veternary Science enable her to contribute her support in a useful and informed manner. She has also written for several animal magazines articles about animal psychology. Born in 1978, Lola is not only a wonderfully perceptive writer on a wide range of topics, but she has also multi-faceted skills and achievements in other disciplines. She is an accomplished artist and a skilled photographer, and coming as she does from a Viennese artistic family, she is also a singer, and originally wished to make a career in music. BLACK SKIN WHITE SKIN paperback version (to be published in 2009) Pre-publication information available from the publishers as from January The impetus for Lola to write about this volatile and important subject came as she was in personal contact with an innocent Afro-American prisoner in Texas for several years. She was appalled and deeply moved by what she found and her conscience and her natural humanity stirred her to write 'Black Skin White Skin' and to devote so much time and personal effort to this particular worthy cause. Having studied English at a German university, Lola works as a translator in several fields, including law, politics, science, medicine, art and literature. Her desire to become a full-time writer has led her to explore other fields of writing, including her own undoubted ability to take excellent photographs. She also speaks French and Italian. FURTHER NEWS ABOUT THE FUTURE OF 'BLACK SKIN WHITE SKIN' Due to unprecedented interest in this subject, Austin & Macauley Publishers Limited have decided to create an Official LOLA EVANS FANCLUB from May 2009 when her first book, 'Black Skin White Skin' is published.
