Amnesty

This is a very important story to tell you to understand me a little bit more and why I mostly write about subjects which are called as a taboo in our society.  Since my father’s death, when I just turned 19 and he  50, my life felt like limbo because I had the strange feeling to die inside, slowly but steadily. And when some years later my mum, who has turned to a real heroine to me, got multiple sclerosis, I must really say that U2’s music was such a great emotional stronghold to me, because I found myself in their lyrics, in their music again.Literature and art, this is my reason to be. This is where I am best at. Writing is like a cyberspace trip. Push the start button of your laptop and then you can find yourself within seconds into another world, your own created world.

But coming back to U2, I must say that I really admire what Bono does, although some Bozos always try to do him down, but he is my hero and I thought that there is no better way than to prove that than to become a human-rights activist on my own. I do it because I want it and I do it because I am convinced of what I do.

I read that he lost his mother when he was 16 and I thought “Wow, he knows what you’re going through, when you lose a parent so early” and his song “I will follow” simply enhances this feeling inside of me. Throughout my 20’s which was the most horrible time in my life, I needed U2’s music like a drug to survive and I do not exaggerate with this.

All the pain, all the frustration that I lost my beloved father and my mother got sick (meanwhile she is doing well again, thank’s heaven) was so heavy that I simply needed someone who would understand me and by means of U2’s music I found someone. I must really say that I always went with open eyes throughout the world but since U2 I went with really open eyes through the world.

I always knew that when I will ever become a professional writer what I am now, then it must have a reason. The reason is that I try to help people by means of literature, art. I try to connect politics and art and try to build a bridge in this way, so that maybe sooner or later a positive change can be seen. Just see the death penalty as an example. I am an artist and I am speaking by means of my literature to the politicians and the world to let them know “Change something NOW”

It’s good to have also role models in our world which are real role models and not just fakes who just do something because everybody does it. With Bono as a role model nothing can go wrong, I can tell you. He is a man with a heart of solid gold and I love to see how he dedicates himself to what he does and his wife Ali too. I can say, in these days it’s so rare to see somebody being so much dedicated to something as Bono is without ever expecting getting rewarded for it.  All he wants is to help and see improvement.

He has proven all over the years that he is deadly serious about what he does and that finally has to be honoured. With my art, I want to show that Bono is really someone who has affected me, even when I used to be a kid, but after my tragedies in life even more and that he really has the strength to touch people’s hearts and change their point of views and even their lives if they just know how to not being lead astray.

Although I do not know Bono personally, I must say I was taught a lot by him, he taught me to fight for your dream, he taught me to fight for human-rights, he taught me what life is really about and all these things just by means of his music and his actions he takes. That’s incredible, that’s almost insane.

I also informed myself a lot about Amnesty International by means of U2. I always knew about Amnesty, but with U2 I got even more interested and I am a member of them since I am sweet  16 years old. I’m glad that there’s an organization like Amnesty International, because they are that certain ray of hope. Without them for many people their lives would be a never ending limbo. I am absolutely convinced of what this organization does, because they have proven all over the centuries that you can change something if you just know how.  The death penalty is also here a very good example. They already did a lot in this special field and I try to help them in the future as much as I can.
