My Photography

I would like to introduce you to my world of photography. Here I like to show you some samples of my different types of work and also will tell you a something about my photography later on. And maybe at the end of my story, you’re going to take your own camera and try to find what I told you about, the soul of photography. So, here we go. (Click on the images to enlarge).

I work mainly in the field of architecture photography. Especially in the field of black/white photography, because I love the mystery about the photos they then will develop. These pictures you can see below are samples of a New York photography book, which is planned to being published in the near future. For additional information about this project, always check here and then for the news section.

I also work in the field of animal photography. I think it’s very difficult to take a very good animal picture, because you have to freeze the special moment, so that the photo becomes “the” photo and you just have less than one minute time for this. So you have to learn a lot which technique is the best and well, these two photos should demonstrate what I mean with the right moment. The swan with the water pearls shimmering on his feathers and he is looking so full of grace. And also take a look at the pony. On one hand it really looks cool, but on the other hand you can see something fragile the pony just can’t conceal. At least not on my photos. This is what always thrills me again and again. To go to the limit with my knowledge of photography and to always learn more and more about it, because in photography you will learn your whole life.

And the same counts for landscape photography. You have to freeze the different moods of nature. Like on the left side the mountains in Italy. I love this picture because it demonstrates the way freedom can look like. And on the right side the flower with the water pearls, it bears something divine. How fragile nature is, if you really take a closer look at it. That’s what photography is also about, to discover the world from another point of view and to learn to respect it and love it again.

But most of all I have developed a great passion for art photography. And for this I am mostly inspired by Andy Warhol. Here I also give you some samples of a photography book which is about to being published in the near future. And guess which city is the main topic here again. Right, New York City, the queen of cities.

My story about photography

Now let me tell you a little bit about how I became a photographer and photo-designer. Well, there was always the passion inside of me for photography since I am a very young girl. . I think, I was inherited this passion because of my father, an excellent graphic-designer , who also was a passionate photographer too. He taught me since I was seven years old how to take “THIS” picture. It took me years of learning and improving and learning and understanding the art of photography. But the better I got, the more I wanted to achieve in the field of art. Photography is something else which is more to me than just taking a picture. You draw with light. This is how I see it. Also during my time as a picture editor, I learned a lot about the special meaning of light in photography. I really adore photographers like Peter Lindbergh and Ellen von Unwerth. They really know how to not only draw with light but also with colour and they always manage it in such a fantastic way to let the characters of the photographs always seem like sculptures. It always has something else of a fairy tale moment. And photography is even more. Once you have discovered the “soul” of your picture you want to take, you can create it much more differently than if you would just see it as a normal picture. That’s how I have discovered to take photographs, because they must reflect a certain character, otherwise they just look boring. I try to imagine what the picture could all mean to me and then the picture will definitely look different. Especially, when it’s going about black/white photography and art photography. It’s a challenge and an art of its own to become a so-called “photography whisperer”. Always keep in mind what the picture wants to tell you and then you have found the “soul” in it.
